Our biscotti are crumbly and crunchy rather than hard, making them edible without the need to dunk them in coffee (not that we don't enjoy dunking our biscotti!).
These cookies are a tradition in Tuscany where they are called "cantucci," which means a little chunk. Italians tend typically eat these cookies after dinner with a little sweet dessert wine such as Vin Santo.
